The TheraSuit Method
The TheraSuit method with the use of the UEU (spider cage) for isolated muscle strengthening and the use of the cage to provide the opportunity to attain positions otherwise not available to the child.

TASES
TASES (Task Specific Electrical Stimulation) is the use of electric stim to improve strength, motor planning, coordination. Additionally, it helps with management of range of motion and spasticity.

Reflex Integration
Reflex Integration Therapy is the use of sensory stimulation paired with functional tasks to re-wire the brain around areas of damage.

NISE-STIM (spinal stim)
NISE-STIM is an effective treatment technique that places electrodes over desired muscles and over the spine at the corresponding levels to provide sensory and motor information to the brain.

CME® is a physical therapy intervention that uses exercises to provoke automatic postural responses in children with motor delays.

Any diagnosis of a degenerative nature affecting the neuromuscular system
A diagnosis of Osteogenesis imperfecta
Uncontrolled seizures
A child younger than 3 months of age, except when the therapist is a CME® II or CME® III graduate.

If you child does not have any of the contraindications to CME® and your child has developmental delays, CME® may be an effective treatment intervention.

The TheraSuit Method uses a combination of reflex integration, the use of the UEU to isolate specific muscle, the TheraSuit to provide sensor input to engage specific muscles and the use of the UEU to support a child in various positions by bungees to work on functional tasks.

Jo Anne Carpenter, PT
Jo Anne has always had a passion for working with children and knew early on she wanted to be a physical therapist. In the year 2000, Jo Anne began her journey in providing physical therapy services to children.
Jo Anne is a life-long learner. She is on a continued quest to find research-based, cutting edge interventions for the best functional outcomes for the children and the families she serves. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in pediatric physical therapy. She is CME ®I (Cuevas Medek Exercise) certified and is proficient in TASES (Task Specific Electrical Stimulation).
When Jo Anne is not working she enjoys golfing with her husband, hiking her dogs, kickboxing and family time.
